Additional Backup Information:
The Emergency Medical Services Department (EMS) has been providing emergency medical services to Travis County for over 30 years. The term of the current agreement ended on September 30, 2023. County has the option to extend this agreement for four additional one-year terms beginning on October 1 of each year unless earlier terminated pursuant to section 22. The Commissioners Court of County must approve these options to extend. If the County exercises its option to extend this agreement, the City shall not increase the negotiated annual fee payable by the County by more than three percent of the negotiated annual fee for the preceding agreement or option term. This amendment increases payment from $16,409,507 to $17,662,618, an 11 percent increase to the City of Austin for expansion of the Community Health Paramedic program into unincorporated Travis County and small cities.
