If approved, this ordinance will allow for the voluntary annexation of approximately 9.776 acres of roadway and associated right-of-way will be annexed into the City's full purpose jurisdiction in District 2. The proposed annexation is limited solely to the roadway and its associated right-of-way and does not include or affect any adjacent or nearby properties. Additionally, the proposed annexation will not expand Austin's extraterritorial jurisdiction. The subject property is located along Ross Road roadway and associated right-of-way from the intersection of State Highway 71 East to approximately 381.35 feet south of Saint Thomas Drive and includes 107 feet of right-of-way width.
Pursuant to Local Government Code Section 43.1055, municipalities can annex property and right-of-way on the request of the owner or maintaining political subdivision.
