Austin Resource Recovery's (ARR) Administrative Rules assist the Department in the implementation, administration, and enforcement of City Code Chapter 15-6 (Solid Waste Services) related to operating requirements of the Department. In 2012, Ordinance No. 20120628-12 amended City Code Chapter 15-6 to require all proposed Austin Resource Recovery rules to be approved, modified, or disapproved by City Council.
Section 6.1 of ARR's Administrative Rules includes rules for the placement of carts for collection, maintenance of carts, and the assessment of certain fees.
Amendment to Section 6.1:
This amendment is intended to update the rules to reflect current operational practices and procedures of the Department. The amendment impacts Department customers, who primarily consist of residents of single-family homes. Changes include cart set-out time, placement of carts, guidelines for extra materials that do not fit in carts, and assessing return trip fees.
