June 11, 2020 - Council approved a professional service agreement with Studio 8 Architects, Inc. for design services on the Dougherty Arts Center.

May 9, 2019 - Council approved the Dougherty Arts Center redevelopment site at Butler Shores Park.

Additional Backup Information:
With passage of the 2018 Bond Proposition B, voters approved funding for the replacement of the Dougherty Arts Center. Following an extensive public engagement process, in the Spring of 2019 Council approved the relocation of this facility to the Butler Shores parkland. An additional preliminary design phase followed in Fall 2020 through Spring 2021, which better defined the layout of the new facility and authorized the design team to move into the design and construction phases of the project.
