Prior Council Action:
On February 29, 2024, City Council approved Ordinance No. 20240229-073, which among other things established minimum requirements for compatibility buffers. This included establishing a screening zone and restricted zone with planting requirements and certain allowed structures and physical elements.

Since adopting Ordinance No. 20240229-073, City staff determined that there is a need to clarify the regulations applicable to compatibility buffers, which create a visual barrier between uses and improves the urban environment for future occupants of the development and surrounding neighbors while balancing these objectives with the provision of housing.
