The purpose of this item is to establish a policy relating to City Council Office expenses and to outline and affirm guidelines for the use of public funds by elected officials in the performance of their official functions. The policy is to ensure that expenses are reasonable and in the interest of the public, while maintaining transparency, fiscal stewardship and accountability. The policy is intended to apply to the Mayor and City Council Members (collectively “City Council Members”), as well as employees supporting a City Council Office.
