A City match of $71,886 is required and is available in Austin Technology Service's current Operating Budget.

Prior Council Action:
May 2, 2024 - Council approved Ordinance No. 20240502-090 to submit an application for funding for the Network Threat Management proposal covering the year 2025.

The State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program is administered by the Office of the Governor's Public Safety Office (PSO), with funding from the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Administration, an agency of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. A proposal titled Network Threat Management was submitted to and approved by the PSO. This is the second year of the program, covering the period January 1, 2026, through December 31, 2026, and the proposal is to continue fortifying Citywide network infrastructure via implementing robust Network Detection and Response capabilities. Uses for the continuation funding of this proposal will include cloud log processing, support and equipment.
