If approved, this resolution will allow a use requiring evacuation assistance to be located between 200 and 500 feet of a hazardous pipeline.
The applicant is proposing to construct Central Health’s Health and Wellness Center. The proposed land use in this application involves structures that would be located within approximately 370 feet of underground pipelines that meet the definition of a “Hazardous Pipeline” in City Code Section 25-2-516(B). The Fire Marshal’s office reviewed the pending building permit application and the site plan to determine whether the proposed design meets the requirements in City Code Section 25-2-516(B). Additionally, the Fire Marshal’s Office reviewed modeling tests that address the safety systems in the proposed design and reviewed the report from Coffman Engineers, Inc., dated May 20, 2026. Based on this review, the Fire Chief recommends Council determine that the proposed design meets the requirements set out in City Code Section 25-2-516(B)(1)-(3).
