Additional Backup Information:

The contract was for the purchase and installation of two portable structures for the Todd Lane Service Center of Austin Fleet Mobility Services. These structures are used by Fleet technicians during maintenance and repairs of Austin Resource Recovery vehicles, which are too large to fit in the existing bay spaces at the service center. Given recent unprecedented temperatures and rising heat indices, these sheltered workspaces were urgently needed to ensure a safer, more sustainable work environment for City staff. Due to the urgent need to protect Fleet technicians from exposure to the elements including extreme heat, this contract was executed on an emergency basis to ensure timely installation.

This was a new contract. The authorization amount was based on the total cost of the structures, including installation services.
