Fiscal Note

Estimated revenue from the Capital Area Council of Governments is $460,931.81 for the nine-month period of January 1, 2022, thru September 30, 2022.

 

Prior Council Action:

May 07, 2019 - City Council authorized negotiation and execution of an interlocal agreement with the Capital Area Emergency Communications District with the City to maintain the Austin and Travis County 9-1-1 database.

August 27, 2020 - City Council approved the Travis County 9-1-1 database interlocal agreement for an additional term running through September 30, 2021.

Additional Backup Information:

The City has the authority under state law to name public roads and assign address numbers within its city limits and has entered into an agreement with Travis County to coordinate updates to the 9-1-1 GIS database for the unincorporated parts of Travis County.  This interlocal agreement between the City and the Capital Area Council of Governments (CAPCOG) authorizes the City, under Chapter 791 of the Texas Government Code, to maintain and update CAPCOG’s 9-1-1 GIS database during the period of January 1, 2022 through September 20, 2022 and to be compensated for such work.
