Because COVID-19 related eviction prevention measures have expired, staff anticipates an increase in eviction filings for tenants who have fallen behind on rent. To reduce the likelihood that the increase in filings will result in displacement and reduce housing opportunities for eligible households, this agreement would allow Texas RioGrande Legal Aid to provide emergency eviction counseling and prevention services for one year. This service will aid those who are most vulnerable to eviction without legal assistance and representation.
