Fiscal Note
Funding in the amount of $18,750,000 is available in the Fiscal Year 2022-2023 Operating Budget of Austin Energy. Funding for the remaining contract term is contingent upon available funding in future budgets.
Purchasing Language:
The Financial Services Department issued a Request for Qualification Statements (RFQS) 1100 EAL4001 for these goods. The solicitation was issued on July 18, 2022 and closed on August 16, 2022. Of the six offers received, the recommended contractors submitted the best evaluated responsive offers. These contracts will provide electric utility supplies to be used by Austin Energy work crews for utility maintenance, construction, and power restoration as well as stock goods for the warehouses. These supplies are considered critical to the operation of the Austin Energy distribution electrical service system with some items requiring same day delivery in times of emergency. Items purchased through these contracts include single-phase transformers, power cable, copper wire, pole-line hardware, and fuses. The recommended contractors are the current providers for these goods.
An evaluation team with expertise in this area evaluated the offers and scored KBS Electrical Distributors Inc., Priester-Mell & Nicholson Inc., Stuart C Irby Company d/b/a Stuart C Irby Co, Techline Inc., Texas Electric Cooperatives, Wesco Distribution, Inc. d/b/a Hi-Line Utility Supply Co, LLC a/k/a Power Supply as the best to provide these services based on company experience, solution, and facility.
