Prior Council Action:
The Council previously has approved contracts with Motorola Solutions, Inc. for annual maintenance of the Greater Austin-Travis County Regional Radio System (GATRRS) and its various components. For More Information:
Inquiries should be directed to Pushpa Srinivasa, CTM-Wireless Communication Services Division Manager, (512) 972-3209, pushpa.srinivasa@austintexas.gov.
Additional Backup Information:
The Capital Area Emergency Communications District (CAECD) - the government district that collects the monthly 9-1-1 fee on phone numbers, will reimburse the City of Austin for maintenance costs related to 9-1-1 public safety answering points and related administrative telephone recordings, and maintenance costs of the CAECD owned radio consoles located at the 9-1-1 Back-Up Center. Currently, the City of Austin pays the maintenance vendor for a Customer Support Plan that is all-inclusive in covering a suite of equipment that comprises a “system,” of which the City of Austin is the primary owner. However, there are 9-1-1 phone call recording maintenance system charges and radio console maintenance charges that are for CAECD owned equipment that is covered in the vendor contract. Accordingly, the City of Austin is seeking annual reimbursement from CAECD for maintenance costs related to this CAECD owned equipment.
