Prior Council Action:
On November 5, 2009, and September 21, 2023, Council approved negotiation and execution of the Greater Austin-Travis County Regional Radio System (GATRRS) Master Site Use Interlocal Cooperation Agreements with a variety of governments and political subdivisions across Texas. These agreements with radio subsystem owners were authorized with the stipulation that costs related to connection of the outside entities to the GATRRS Master Site will be borne by the outside entities at no expense to the City or the other GATRRS partners, and the outside entities will pay for their own radio system operation and maintenance costs as well as services performed by the City at the request of the outside entities.

Although the above-described interlocal agreements have been, or will be, executed with the government and political subdivision radio subsystem owners, there are numerous smaller governments and political subdivision users of these subsystems which are connected to the GATRRS Master Site in Austin or other Zone Controllers.
