This acquisition is for park and recreation purposes. The property consists of approximately 0.21 acres of vacant land located at 306 Cedarbrook Court, adjacent to the Northern Walnut Creek Greenbelt, and currently owned by Elizabeth H. Burks. If acquired, this property will function as a pocket park and trailhead, as well as form an assemblage with other park properties, including 300, 302, 304, and 308, Cedarbrook Court, further expanding the Northern Walnut Creek Greenbelt at this location-a recommendation for the northern region of Austin identified in the Parks and Recreation Department's Council-adopted Long-Range Plan, Our Parks, Our Future. The site is gently sloped, with mature trees, and has excellent right-of-way access on the corner of Cedarbrook Court and Oakbrook Drive.

This acquisition is funded through the 2018 Bond, Proposition C. An independent third-party appraisal was procured to establish the fair-market valuation of the proposed acquisition.
