Council Committee, Boards and Commission Action:

March 24, 2023, - The College Student Commission recommended additional funding for the College Food Access Grant Program that was later adopted by Council (Budget Amendment Quadri 02) for the Fiscal Year 2024 budget.

 

Additional Backup Information:

This action will authorize negotiation and execution of Amendment 2 to the agreement with Central Texas Food Bank Inc. to assist food insecure students attending colleges and universities in Austin/Travis County.

 

Amendment No 1. exercised the first 12-month extension option in the amount of $57,500 for the period of April 1, 2023, through March 31, 2024.

 

The current social services agreement with Central Texas Food Bank, Inc. was awarded because of Austin Public Health Department’s College Food Access Request for Applications in Fiscal Year 2021. Services began on April 1, 2022, for an initial 12-month term ending on March 31, 2023, in the amount of $57,500, with one 12-month extension option in the amount of $57,500.
