Prior Council Action:
On August 31, 2023, Council approved Resolution 20230831-137 authorizing the negotiation of an interlocal agreement with Travis County and other interested entities to create a collaborative Northeast Planning District, an advisory committee and allocate funding.

Council’s Resolution No. 20201112-043 called for a planning process for multiple census tracts around the Colony Park Sustainable Community Initiative 208-acre project site. Subsequently, Council adopted new direction in Resolution No. 20230831-137 authorizing the negotiation of an interlocal agreement between the City of Austin and Travis County for collaborative work in the area.
Once approved, the interlocal agreement will initiate a primary partnership between with the City of Austin’s Planning Department and Travis County’s Economic Development and Strategic Investments Department to develop a collaborative community planning process and initiate a process to establish a community advisory committee.
