Prior Council Action:
October 15, 2014 - Council approved Resolution No. 2014016-062 authorizing the creation of the South Congress Preservation and Improvement District (PID).

October 17, 2019 - Council approved Resolution No. 20191017-037 reauthorizing the PID.

June 1, 2023 - Council approved Ordinance No. 20230601-009 setting the assessment rate and approving the proposed 2024 assessment roll for the PID.

July 20, 2023 - Council approved Resolution No. 20230720-163 adopting the PID Service and Assessment Plan and Budget update for 2024.

February 15, 2024 - Council set the public hearing for reauthorization for March 21, 2024.

This resolution reauthorizes the PID for a period of five years. Petitions signed by property owners requesting authorization have been submitted and certified by the City Clerk's Office.

Council approved the reauthorization of the PID and set the assessment rate on October 17, 2019. Council also contracted with the South Congress Improvement Association to manage the PID. Council has approved subsequent budgets, service plans, and assessment rolls for the PID. The resolution reauthorizing the PID provided that it would dissolve five years after creation unless reauthorized through the petition process set out in the PID Assessment Act, Chapter 372, Local Government Code.
