This acquisition of approximately 3.666 acres is for park and recreation purposes. The Parks and Recreation Department is funding this proposed acquisition through parkland dedication funds and the 2018 Bond, Proposition C. The acquisition consists of two tracts of land. The larger tract is 3.288 acres of vacant land along Williamson Creek. A second, smaller 0.378 acre tract is also included in the acquisition, and is contiguous with Williamson Creek Greenbelt.  This greenbelt extension provides access to Williamson Creek Greenbelt from McCarty Lane, expanding the park service area to residents along the south side of the creek and an opportunity for trailhead facilities.

 

An independent, third-party appraisal was procured to establish the fair-market valuation of the proposed acquisition. The appraisal supports the purchase price of $350,000. The amount of the purchase price plus closing costs is not to exceed $370,000.
