Additional Backup Information:
The State of Texas requests to permanently encroach into the subsurface of approximately 0.0220 acre (960 square feet) of public right-of-way for an underground service corridor, together with chilled water lines and conduits, crossing the Colorado Street right-of-way between 15th Street and 16th Street. A new commercial development is currently under construction at 1509 Colorado Street, and the underground service corridor will connect the development with the neighboring block. The development and this encroachment are part of the State of Texas Capitol Complex project.

All affected departments and private utility franchise holders have reviewed this request and recommend approval. Per Chapter 14-11-51(D) of the City Code, the Director of Transportation and Public Works determined no additional reviews are necessary for the proposed Encroachment Agreement. Thus, this encroachment request is ready for presentation directly to the City Council for consideration, without prior review by the appropriate Land Use Commission.
