Fiscal Note
Funding in the amount of $80,071 is available in the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 Austin Public Health Department Operating Budget Special Revenue Fund. Funding for the remaining terms is contingent upon available funding in future budgets.
Prior Council Action:
September 2, 2021 - Council authorized resolution 20210902-27 for negotiation and execution of agreements to enhance and support local HIV-related prevention services for an initial 12-month term, with three optional 12-month extensions, with the following subrecipient-providers: Central Texas Community Health Center in an amount not to exceed S85,209 for the initial term and each extension option, for a total agreement amount not to exceed S340,836; and AIDS Healthcare Foundation in an amount not to exceed $96,086 for the initial term and each extension option, for a total agreement amount not to exceed $384,344 on a 10-0 vote. Council Member A. Alter was absent.

The funding for this agreement is provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention via the Texas Department of Health and Human Services starting August 1, 2024, through July 31, 2025, to support the development and implementation of programs tailored to ending the HIV epidemic in America. The proposed agreements are a result of a competitive solicitation.
This action will authorize negotiation and execution of Amendment No. 5 with AIDS Healthcare Foundation to enhance and support local HIV-related prevention services for an initial 12-month term, through July 31, 2025, in an amount not to exceed $80,071, with three 12-month extension options, each not to exceed $80,071, for a total agreement amount not to exceed $704,628.
Amendment No. 3 exercised the third extension option in the amount of $16,014 for June 1, 2024, to July 31, 2024.
Amendment No. 2 exercised the second extension option in the amount of $80,071 for August 1, 2023, to May 31, 2024.
Amendment No. 1 exercised the first extension option in the amount of $96,086 for August 1, 2022, to July 31, 2023.
