Prior Council Action:

September 14, 2023 - Council approved on consent execution of a four-year meet and confer agreement with the Austin EMS Association relating to wages, hours, and terms and conditions of employment for certain employees of the Emergency Medical Services Department.

BUDGET COST:

 

The total estimated annual additional cost of the amended meet and confer agreement will be $391,488.

 

ADDITIONAL PROVISIONS:

 

The proposed amended agreement integrates certain non-sworn personnel from the Office of the Chief Medical Officer (OCMO) into the uniformed, sworn civil service structure of the Emergency Medical Services Department (EMS).  The proposed amended agreement also makes certain changes to the wages, hours, and terms and conditions of employment for all uniformed staff in EMS.
