Fiscal Note
Funding for the initial amount of $850,000 is available in the Fiscal Year 2021-2022 Operating Budget of the Public Works Department. Funding for the extension options is contingent upon available funding in future budgets.

The Public Works Department Bridge Maintenance program was created in 2003 with the intent to expeditiously rehabilitate structures that are at risk of failing, have been damaged by traffic collisions, flooding, fire, and aging. In the past, the City has managed bridge repairs on an as-needed basis. This method had no systematic ability to forecast future rehabilitation, replacement needs, or schedule preventive maintenance, which could extend the useful life span of these structures.
