Authorize an amendment to a contract for continued inspections, maintenance, and repair services for fire alarm systems, fire suppression systems, and fire alarm monitoring services with Johnson Controls Fire Protection LP, to increase the amount by $5,000,000, for a revised total contract amount not to exceed $15,000,000.
[Note: This contract was reviewed for subcontracting opportunities in accordance with City Code Chapter 2-9C (Minority Owned and Women Owned Business Enterprise Procurement Program). For the services required for this contract, there were no subcontracting opportunities; therefore, no subcontracting goals were established].

Fiscal Note:
Funding in the amount of $1,081,250 is available in the Fiscal Year 2022-2023 Operating Budget of various City departments. Funding for the remaining contract term is contingent upon available funding in future budgets.

The contract with Johnson Controls Fire Protection LP was effective July 2020. Since the start of this contract, the City has had an increased need for these services because of expansion projects, remodels, aging buildings, and aging equipment.
The Department of Aviation (Aviation) has continued to expand its existing terminal and has added two new multiple level facilities that were not part of the original estimate.
