Approval of this item will authorize negotiating and execution of agreements to provide community-based primary medical care, including oral health services, transportation services, and non-medical case management to people living with HIV during the 2023 grant term from January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration, has awarded grant funds for the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program Part C HIV Early Intervention Services and Capacity Development Program. The grant provides direct financial assistance to communities most severely affected by the HIV epidemic in the 10-county service-delivery area, which includes Travis, Bastrop, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Fayette, Hays, Lee, Llano, and Williamson counties.
The City's annual grant award is formula driven and is a function of the total amount of Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program Part C HIV Early Intervention Services and Capacity Development Program funds appropriated by the U.S. Congress and the reported number of AIDS cases in the Austin Transitional Grant Area.
